I've just finished up my first plugin, Mailing Lists (lists), to the point where I can release it for alpha testing. Any help rooting out bugs would be appreciated. A download for the Alpha can be found here: lists_0.1_1.3.7.tar.gz.
This plugin provides basic mailing list functionality, with full integration into Geeklog including the Geeklog security aparatus and the plugin submission/moderation API (for new lists).
The plugin still requires some work before it is ready for mainstream release. Most importantly it needs more user friendly instructions and documentation along with support for Geeklog style language file. I hope to add these features in the next month along with bugfixes for any problems found.
If you have questions or need help with the plugin, please feel free to email me. Bug reports and feature requests can be submitted through the gplugs sourceforge project.

Can you say a little more about the features? For instance:
Does it archive the emails?
If yes, does it thread the archives?
Can lists be nested?
If a person is on two lists, and you send them an announcement to both lists, will they get two copies? For example, someone is on the \'snowboarder\' and the \'skier\' list and you want to sen an announcement to both lists. Do they receive 2 copies?
Is there a \"Remove me\" function?
I apologize if there is another spot where I should be looking for this info. I am just browsing GL plugins for the first time .

Hi Vinny,
It seems to be a great idea for a plug in. I am looking forward to test the future releases.
As for the current one, the installation was easy, except it didn\'t work :). I couldn\'t figure out where the problem was, so I installed it again assuming that the minor changes I made created the problem.
This is what I got after installation. I click on Mailing Lists in the Admin Only box and got a page that I have nothing to click on. Doesn\'t allow me to create anything. There is a bracket [menu here] near the top.
I clicked on Mailing List link from the top menu and it asked me to create a new list, and said there is not list to subscribe to. I created a new list and clikc submit and got an error asking me to give the list ID, which could be found nowhere.
It seems to me that the index.phps were swapped. The Mailing List link on the user menu is generating admin functions and the one from the Admin box is listing the mailing lists. I could be wrong because I haven\'t got a functional program yet.
I tested the one on your website. It allows me to subscribe but does not let me see the list info, I got an erro instead.
It would be a very useful plugin when it is fully functional.
